The long-awaited meeting between President Obama and his top advisors to finalize the U.S. policy on Sudan is slated to take place on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
The Sudan policy review has been over six months in the making and marked by moments of controversy, as reports emerged of infighting between administration officials and as the top U.S. diplomat working on Sudan seemed to make headlines (and not usually positive ones) at almost every turn.
The Tuesday meeting will include Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice, Defense Secretary Robert Gates, CIA Director Leon Panetta, and other top officials in the Obama administration.
More to come on Monday.
