Sudan Radio Project: November Show

Hello! We’re Kate and Chelsea from the Sudan Radio Project, back to write another guest blog post. Thanks so much to ENOUGH for welcoming us back! We’re hoping you’ll visit our site and check out our November show, "The Art of Peace." This month, we focus on efforts within and outside of Sudan to craft solutions to the nation’s conflicts.

Our show’s first report focuses on the role played by South Sudanese women in the North-South civil war and peacebuilding efforts afterward. The second piece is what we call a "Vox Pop": we call several Sudanese people from different areas of the country, with different backgrounds, jobs and levels of education, and ask them the same question. This month, we asked six Sudanese people to tell us their opinions on President Obama’s new Sudan policy. Our third report features a dance company that raises awareness about Darfur in an unconventional way—with a ballet based on the crisis. And finally, in our fourth report, we had the chance to talk to two health care NGOs operating in Darfur’s refugee camps.

On our website, you can listen to each individual piece or to the full 29-minute show. You can also contact us at kate [at] sudanradioproject [dot] org or chelsea [at] sudanradioproject [dot] org with feedback or ideas for future stories. Thanks for listening!
