Voices of Sudan director Jimmy Mulla and Enough’s Omer Ismail and John Prendergast recently got together to record this roundtable discussion about the troubling state of affairs in Sudan. They discuss the escalation of tension in Sudan as the peace deal between North and South falters and the conflict in Darfur remains unresolved six years and counting. They also reflect on the utterly disappointing response of the international community, which has made it its M.O. to look at the Darfur conflict and the challenges in the South separately. As Omer put it:
“By not working on multiple tracks, by not being able to walk and chew gum at the same time, we are going to continue jumping from one place to another, and the government of Sudan is the happiest in the middle.”
