Earlier this month during his first speech as president from sub-Saharan Africa, President Obama pledged to Africans that “America will be with you every step of the way” as countries across the continent work toward a prosperous future. Next week, the Obama administration is taking an important follow-up step by dispatching the U.S.’s foremost diplomat to seven African countries scattered over each region to engage on a wide range of issues. Secretary of State Clinton’s trip includes meetings with leaders and stops in countries Enough is focused on, so we’ve prepared a web-based press kit that includes recent Enough strategy papers, coalition reports, news clips, and multimedia features related to the issues she’s likely to confront.
Check out the press kit here.
To hear about additional plans and priorities for Secretary Clinton’s trip, I’ll attend a live press briefing with Assistant Secretary of State for Africa Johnnie Carson later this afternoon. Follow the play-by-play on Twitter at laura4Enough.
