Oprah Show Hosts Champions of Movement to End Violence against Women

Don’t miss the "The Oprah Winfrey Show" today, featuring Lisa Shannon, founder of Run for Congo Women and author of the soon-to-be-released book A Thousand Sisters. Lisa was invited by Oprah to speak about her personal mission to sponsor 1,000 Congolese women through Women for Women International.

New York Times columnist Nick Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn will also appear on today’s show to talk about their new book Half the Sky, which makes a case for why ending brutality against women must be the moral challenge of the century. (Read the magazine-length version here.)

The hour-long episode will reveal powerful stories of women who have overcome adversity and beat the odds to create a better future for themselves and their children. Watch a preview of today’s show and find broadcast details for your area here.
