Boston Activists to Hold Vigil for Congolese Women

In the Boston area this weekend? Come out and support Congo Action Now at its first vigil this Saturday.

Congo Action Now, or CAN, a Massachusetts and New Hampshire based organization focused on women in Congo, will be holding a vigil in Harvard Square in Cambridge, MA, on October 10 at 2 p.m. The vigil will be mainly held in silence, broken by occasional facts about the conflict in Congo.

CAN is a project of the Boston branch of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom. The mission of Congo Action Now is to promote peace and justice in the Democratic Republic of Congo, with a focus on ending violence against women.

The rain date for the event is October 11 at 2 p.m. We’ll be eager to hear how it goes! Write and tell us about it if you attend.
