Strategies for Sustainable Change in Sudan

October 27, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Brian Adeba, Deputy Director of Policy at the Enough Project, will be a panelist at the 8th International Symposium on Women and Genocide in the 21st Century: The Case of Darfur, during the featured discussion ‘Strategies for Sustainable Change in Sudan.’

The Symposium is aimed at educating the public about genocide – specifically in Darfur and to bring attention to the longstanding crises in Darfur. The event will feature several panels to discuss genocide and its impact on women, women’s resilience in the face of genocide, political participation of women, justice and accountability, peace building, effective strategies for women empowerment, and strategies for sustainable change in Sudan. These discussions will focus on the important role of women in combatting genocide and present lessons from the field. Women survivors from various conflict zones will testify and share their stories of suffering and resilience. Alongside experts, they will develop effective strategies for women’s empowerment and for the combatting of genocide worldwide. These insights will later be shared with institutions and governmental bodies working on these issues.
