Emmanuelle Chriqui
Canadian actress Emmanuelle Chriqui (Entourage, You Don’t Mess with the Zohan, The Borgias, The Mentalist) has been a longtime supporter of Enough’s Congo advocacy. Emmanuelle has authored several op-eds, including for Enough’s Valentine’s Day and “Look Who’s Getting Engaged” campaigns. She signed the conflict-free minerals petition urging Apple CEO Tim Cook to create a conflict-free product, and hosted a fashion show during New York City Fashion Week 2012 to benefit Enough’s Raise Hope for Congo campaign. Emmanuelle also teamed up with JewelMint to raise funds for Enough’s “I Am Congo” video series.
In fall 2013 Chriqui joined NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Congolese NFL linebacker Andy Mulumba, and Enough Project staff at a Rally for Congo at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, where they called on the university to pass a conflict-free minerals resolution.
In 2016 Chriqui traveled to Congo with Enough’s Sasha Lezhnev and other Enough staff. The goal of their trip and the op-ed that followed were to increase accountability for sexual- and gender-based violence in Congo.
Emmanuelle and Enough founding director John Prendergast spoke to students at the University of San Diego about the ongoing conflict in Congo. Additionally, Chriqui contributed her personal story to the book The Enough Moment, co-authored by Don Cheadle and John Prendergast.
Emmanuelle joined forces with Enough and Raise Hope for Congo in 2015 as part of an Omaze fundraising campaign that highlighted ending the mineral-fueled war in Congo.
