In this presentation Mr. Prendergast will address what is happening in South Sudan, Sudan, Congo, CAR, and the LRA. He will focus in on what is driving these wars and the violence that devastates so many people. Mr. Prendergast will discuss possible solutions and how people in the U.S. can support these issues.

John Prendergast is a human rights activist and best-selling author who has worked for peace in Africa for nearly 30 years. He has worked for the Clinton White House, the State Department and the U.S. Institute of Peace. He is the co-founder of the Enough Project, an initiative to end genocide and crimes against humanity affiliated with the Center for American Progress.

The Enough Project fights to end genocide and crimes against humanity by focusing on areas where some of the world’s worst atrocities occur. The group conducts on-the-ground research and rigorous policy analysis, influences political leaders to implement durable solutions and mobilizes the American public to demand change. One of their key initiatives is the Satellite Sentinel Project, co-founded with George Clooney with the aim to detect, document and deter mass atrocities in Sudan and South Sudan.
