Raising Public Awareness: Strategies for Human Rights Campaigns

Governments around the world increasingly influence public opinion in favor of authoritarianism by portraying human rights as a foreign concept in direct conflict with the traditional values of the people and local culture. In response, civil society organizations and activists are finding innovative ways to create a demand for human rights from broader communities.

A diverse group of experts, including Enough’s Annie Callaway, will discuss the findings from recent research on the effectiveness of human rights campaigns, present relevant examples of successful campaigns that raise public awareness, and discuss strategies for developing and executing campaigns that aim to promote human rights.
