Steve Lannen is an Editor and Researcher for the Enough Project.
Prior to joining the Enough Project, Steve worked for more than a decade as an award‐winning newspaper reporter for daily online and print publications, covering topics such as criminal justice, business, government, and immigration policy. In 2008, Steve worked as a foreign correspondent in Iraq for The McClatchy Company newspapers. He partnered with a team of Iraqi reporters to file dispatches from Baghdad and embedded with the U.S. Army in places such as Mosul and Diyala. More recently, Steve worked as a press assistant in the Washington bureau of France’s Le Figaro newspaper and worked as a freelance editor on projects for the World Bank and Eurasia Group.
Originally from Chicago, Steve holds a master’s degree from the University of Maryland School of Public Policy with a concentration in international security and economic policy. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Kenyon College, where he was co-editor of the student newspaper. While in graduate school, Steve interned for the U.S. Senate, the U.S. Department of State’s Embassy in Buenos Aires, and the International Crisis Group. Steve speaks Spanish.
