Darfur10: Mark the Anniversary with 10 Days of Action

The conflict in Darfur began 10 years ago.

Just a few months ago, I sat outside a classroom in Goz Amer refugee camp speaking with Umda Tarbosh and Youssif, two Darfuri refugee teachers. We talked about their lives in the camp—how they thought they would be back home in Darfur by now, that they feel left behind by the world, and that their dreams are on hold until there is peace in Darfur.

Ten years after the conflict began, Umda Tarbosh and Youssif are among the more than 2 million Darfuris still displaced. As we mark this 10th anniversary, the Darfur Dream Team is joining a global call to aid Darfuris who have been forced to flee their homes and push for lasting peace in Darfur and throughout Sudan. Tell our leaders that they must act to end this conflict once and for all.

Take a stand today.

Join us as we call for peace in Sudan so that Umda Tarbosh, Youssif, and all of our friends in Djabal and Goz Amer can return home to Darfur.

To commemorate the 10-year anniversary of the start of the conflict in Darfur—to remember the lives lost, acknowledge the continuing struggle of the displaced, and recognize the ongoing effort to establish justice and find peace amid ongoing conflict—Enough and its partners will mark 10 days of activism. Please visit Darfur10.org and share the special site with your friends.
